ABOUT LAURA

Combining radical imagination with practical skills, Laura Splan empowers artists and organizations with the tools and insights needed to communicate their vision from ideation to documentation.

As an Artist, Curator, Speaker, and Educator, Laura’s art practice incorporates a wide range of creative technologies. Her widely recognized artwork has been internationally exhibited and is represented in significant collections and publications. As a educator and advisor, Laura began teaching as a staff editor and instructor at the BAVC Media in 1996. Since then, she has provided interdisciplinary arts education and advising to thousands of individuals and institutions including academic appointments at Stanford University and Hunter College. Laura has been a Digital Arts Fellow supported by the National Endowment for the Arts and a mentor at NEW INC, the New Museum’s cultural incubator. She lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
