Plexus Projects is pleased to present a solo exhibition of work by Adriene Jenik in our Vitrine screening series. BLAST RADIUS memorializes the destruction caused by the MOAB bomb and US ordnance in Afghanistan. In contrast to this trend toward distilling big data, each of her 'data humanization' performances seeks to physically “translate” a single data point so that it can be more fully comprehended.
Adriene Jenik is an artist and educator who resides in the hi desert. Her mediated performances have been written about in The New York Times, published in The Drama Review, and recognized by the Rockefeller Foundation. Current work includes “data humanization” performances, ECOtarot readings, and experiments in extreme experiential learning.
Adriene Jenik’s video will be on view in Vitrine on Sunday, July 21, 2019 from 6-10pm. Vitrine is an ongoing screening series of videos projected on our storefront window and viewed from the sidewalk. The series welcomes unwitting passersby to stop, discover, and enjoy the work of an international selection of new media artists. Please note the gallery is closed during screening times.
