July 26, 2020 from 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Plexus Projects is pleased to present a solo exhibition of work by Yejin Yoo. Pacific Memory will be featured in Vitrine, an ongoing screening series of moving image artworks.
Pacific Memory embodies the painting process of the artist books (Folded I & II, 2014, mixed media) in recordings, and post-production mutates painterly marks into the quality of the digital. In the audio, artist recites “I am thee, thou is me, me is thou” in English and Korean, forward and in reverse. These four tracks are juxtaposed and played simultaneously creating a mantra-like soundscape.
Yejin Yoo creates cross-medium work investigating/researching the essence of the media utilized — painting, audiovisual and herself — as subject of and tool for creative expressions. She is committed in creating work that integrates art, science, metaphysics and theosophy in the hopes to communicate mind-body-spirit connection, one to the One, and nature to Nature. Yejin holds BFA and MFA with an emphasis in painting and installation, and MPS with Art Therapy Merit Award from School of Visual Arts, NY. She is a licensed creative arts therapist and a reiki master based in Brooklyn, NY.
Vitrine projections are viewed from the sidewalk.
