The Barnacle Goose Experiment
VIEW INTERACTIVE BROWSER-BASED GAME > >
abiogenesis idle clicker game, set in a world where spontaneous generation is commonplace. You play as a researcher studying the creation of new and living things out of raw and non-living matter where the only raw material for experimentation is that of your own body. Through the accretions of self, the slow learning of mechanical systems, and the simple duration of time, you must uncover the combinatory logic of spontaneous generation and make again a living world from a dead one.

(in)tangible being: a portrait of computer body
documentation of installation created with custom touch interfaces, silicone, Leap Motion, and TouchDesigner exploring self-conception blurred between physical and digital through everyday interactions with technology

Alina Nazmeeva
bug in my software
Multimedia installation pairing textile landscape with real-time AI-agent driven ecosystem simulation to draw a line from engineered lifecycle and DNA of silkmoth to the womxn-dominated textile labor and gendered biases embedded in AI development.
Iz Nettere
Memory schematic
Lenticular cyanotype print created using pigment-metabolizing organisms through a layered process of humidity and growth.. Developed in conversation with neuroscientist Ida Mommenejad to speculate on the shape of memory in neural networks that lack synapses yet display predictive faculties.
Tyler Williams
M oire no.2
mixed media Photo created with imaging Software, airbrush paint, and oil paint

Aurora Mititelu
Abel & I
documentation of interactive simulation created using a real-time avatar and a custom LLM agent, accessed through a phone within a physical installation. It explores ideas on autonomy through the artist’s relationship with Abel, the synthetic male version of herself.

Thread in the Air
VIEW INTERACTIVE WEB-BASED VERSION > >
electronic textile sculpture incorporating interactive projection on textiles. In the projection, a poem emulates the structure and movements of threads–it sways, folds, or tears–responding to the audience’s touch–to weave is to speak.
Brandon Barr
scroll
Reflective acrylic on digital canvas print. For Scroll you have to use the camera flash from your phone to view the reflective text. Once this happens, the piece lives on as a physical painting and a flattened digital file, both needing each other in order to complete the artwork.

The HTMLgardeness – Sowing HTML but Harvesting AI
AR walks and experiences triggered by scanning the bark of trees, a natural QR-code. A critical yet playful series, it features the character of The HTMLgardeness, reflecting on climate and systems, code and fragility, while offering AI-generated harvest.

Social Pressure Sim: 2018 [62.1/17.5/20.4]
Digital image created with nCloth pressure simulation on a 3D model derived from motion capture data, using values from the percentages of internet traffic from humans, “good” bots, and “bad” bots in 2018, exploring the social pressures of interacting online with human and artificial actors.

The Seven Meters of My Vacillation
Installation and moving image based on Arduino and Processing, capturing the intangible vacillation of will by recording the decisions of quit smoking or smoke again, and thus mocking on the failure of will in a humorous sense while exploring the paradox of attempting to be continent that leads to akrasia, special credit to Alex Ma.
Dennis Delgado
Moonlight
Digital image created using Open Computer Vision, Python and Adobe Photoshop. Moonlight looks at the bias inherent in facial recognition systems. Using Open Computer Vision and the programming language Python, a facial detection algorithm was run on a series of films by directors of color. In this case the film is Moonlight by director Barry Jenkins.

Default Cube Looping Animation Mechanism
a mechanical device made from fresh vegetables designed to animate the “default cube” in open-source 3D graphics software Blender. Vegetables are electrically conductive, allowing them to use a touchpad to create a looping animation.
Anna Christine Sands
Fallen High
digital screenshot exploring the ways familiar software design seeps into the collective unconscious, and takes on a life of its own. I examine and consider each layer of production through the entire process of making my digital collages, and occasionally those layers become an integral part of the finished piece.

Avital Meshi
GPT-ME
A durational performance with an AI-based Wearable exploring how GenAI intertwines with human identity. With this DIY wearable, the artist speaks GPT-generated words instead of sharing her own organic thoughts.

Yvonne Fang
Dream Field
documentation of interactive installation of an ecosystem simulation created with real-time AI image generation, exploring human role within ecological systems and ecological grief.

Amber Parris
botoxontology
Screen recordings are layered over their viewing locale as a narrator explores how technology allows us to both enhance our physical faces and to curate digital selves, blurring the boundaries between on and offline and performance and authenticity.

Yitao Yuan
How's it going, Fun Guy?
Portable installation and video created with bioelectronic signal collection and data visualization exploring communication between humans and fungi. Yitao Yuan brings fungi into human activities, recording their signals and visualizing them in real time.

Andrew Y. Ames
We Don't Need Another Algorithm
Wood, Resin, Copper, LEDs and a Microcontroller brought together using traditional woodworking, CNC machining, and programming to craft an animated shift key. “We don’t need another algorithm” explores user data and its ability to alter perceptions.
Iohanna Nicenboim
Conversation Starters
interactive sculpture that uses the metaphor of growing, to explore everyday (mis)understandings of AI. Failures and misunderstandings of AI are as important as explanations: they show the limitations of AI and let ppl negotiate trust.
